AI Boosts Productivity… By A Lot!
Can AI improve the productivity of a professional services firm by, say, 10%?
Apparently the answer is yes.
But how would you feel instead about 100%, a doubling of productivity?
Sounds good, right?
That’s what we learn about in the latest video we’ve just posted to our YouTube Channel, where we interview Conor Flynn, Chief Operating Officer of Trinzo, a consulting firm based in Ireland. Conor shares with us some great stories that describe how AI is improving productivity throughout his firm.
We also chat about the future of AI, and discuss what’s likely to happen over the coming few years as AI technologies continue to improve and AI adoption accelerates. This very rapid development cycle us putting us into a positive feedback spiral of increasing improvements that are leading to some pretty significant changes in society.
The AI bus is already departed – so now we have to figure out where it’s heading!

Some highlights from the interview:
Having achieved roughly a doubling of internal productivity over the last year, Trinzo is now shifting its focus outwardly, aiming to gain competitive advantage from applications of AI. These include creating tools for its highly skilled consultants to use, which free their time from tedious report reading and writing, enabling them instead to spend more time engaging with clients and adding much more value.
Conor reports that the staff is fully engaged in this AI journey, and is enjoying the process of discovering many new ways to apply AI to get rote work done by AI throughout the organization.
In our discussion about the future, Conor wonders if we will see fully intelligent AI systems within our lifetimes. The answer we offer: much quicker than that. Within about five years we are likely to see machines approaching human levels of awareness and intelligence, which will of course be utterly transformative.
We also mentioned some of the work that we’re starting to do in InnovationLabs, and with our partner firm FutureLab, which includes developing AI tools like Brainstorm Bot to help train people how to use AI tools, and strategic consulting to help business leaders, and even entire nations, to strategize their investments in AI.
We’ll share more about these recent developments in new videos in the coming weeks, including an overview of work we’re now doing in partnership with the Asia Productivity Organization for the government of Thailand, where we are very pleased to be helping to craft the national AI strategy.
As always, thanks for reading, and thanks for checking out all the videos on our YouTube Channel, AI Impact and Strategy.
